Week 2 How do we teach learners to engage with complexity?
Digital - 21st Century Skills
Schools main function is to deliver particular outcomes. Schools often don’t foster a safe place to fail. Schools often built around risk aversion.
Schools are starting to become more creative, adaptive, permeable etc
Some schools may have already solved a problem but there is no collaboration between some schools. As a system we are no learning. Schools have to become self evolving places. Think about the structure., we need to start thinking about schools as eco-systems, ones that respond to the environment and grows. A 21 century learner is the ability to take control of ones learning. Self evolving people and organisations who respond to their environment. Easier said than done.

As a small group develop a video on the stages of the rubric
ASSIGNMENTS Planning regarding time management, don’t try to upload at the last minute!
Digital 1 - Plan an innovation
Leadership 1- Reflect on leadership
Digital 2 - Plan to lead an innovation
Leadership 2 - Implement and reflect
Feedback from first assessment is designed to help youwith the next assignment.
50% pass. Each assignment is worth 50% of total pass mark
Use fellow students formative feedback
Assessment video: Remember to introduce yourself!!
Uploading assessment - Make sure when uploading a video file it is a video file tag
If submitting a group assessment each member must submit the assignment and forms seperately.
1.Identify criteria and link to something, how do you know its a problem, link it to something.
2 What does success look like, what are the pedagocial outcomes are to achieve….. Explain how the outcomes you hope to reach the problem identified at the beginning. Support with literature.
3. Plan to put in place to address these issues. How specifics of the plan will identify the issues.Evidence why the solution you have identified is better than others. How is that better than what you were doing before? How did you decide that that tool was better than others are being used.
4. Use and reference all references in APA format. Unitech library site on the front page. Make use of sources that are believable. Use peer review journals only as some references. Michael Fullon researcher to look up
5. Deliver content effectively. Quality of your arguement, is it logically structured, is it easy to follow? Sound quality, presentation, editing etc… Check EVERYTHING before you upload! Add names to the video. Speak slowly and clearly. Otherwise obscures the communication.
REFLECTIONS:
Leadership takes many forms. An effective leader is one who is open to change, one who is able to not only implement their ideas but also recognise the ideas of others. An effective leader is able to reflect on their teaching and learning and continue to develop and grow. An effective leader is not one who dictates what needs to happen. We all grow together and we all have leadership potential. It needs t be nurtured and encouraged. This is especially true in our students. We need to develop self evolving learners who are continuing to develop and grow. How am doing this in my classroom........
Which 21st Century skills related area of your practice would you like to focus on in your Assessment 1? Why? Would your students agree? How do you know?
